Hello everyone:
This is my first 'real' posting. The idea is to post accounts of my various trips (given that I am an avid traveler). I wrote this in the the UK but added some pictures after my return to Holland. We (Betsie and I) were visiting my friends Alan and Sandy. They live in a lovely house, south of London in Sussex. Their house actually is a old chapel that was converted to a comfortable spacious dwelling (if not mansion). The only issue for a tall guy like me is that you are bound to hit your head against some beams that cross the upstairs corridors. Betsie and I have slept in a bedroom with a true cathedral ceiling looking up at the rafters and getting light through gothic-style windows.
Yesterday, we visited and had lunch in Rye, a lovely old town with many interesting old houses (Tudor style) and pubs, on the southern shore of England. It's not too far from Hastings. Alan and Sandy are well connected there and had arranged to have lunch with the mayor and his wife. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
See some pictures below.
That's it for now.
